About Us

Oakmoor Academy is an elite, multi-sport training and educational center that prepares students for college and beyond using personalized learning approaches for students who want the flexibility to pursue their own interests and talents in a supportive, innovative environment. Oakmoor Academy is located in Des Moines, Iowa, and offers school programs for 6th-12th grade, post-grad programs, year-round training camps, and collegiate and professional training.

In an athlete-centered approach, every phase of the athlete’s experience is designed to fully prepare them to succeed.

I am so excited to bring Xceed’s model of education to students here in Des Moines. The team at Xceed understands the demands on athletes and has developed an innovative college prep program personalized for each student. We’re excited to open our doors to student-athletes, as well as non-athletes looking for a different type of educational experience.

This is an incredible opportunity to provide families in the area—and beyond—with an alternative option for their children’s education. For years, our flexible, personalized and innovative model of education has served hundreds of students while enabling them to pursue their passions outside of school.

There were a couple of reasons we enrolled at Xceed this year. Primarily, we did it to allow the boys more ice time and more availability for travel. We didn’t want their grades to suffer for the days we were on the road. The decision also coincided with the pandemic, so it pulled them out of that environment, kept them from too much exposure, and allowed them to focus on hockey and school.

I chose to enroll at Xceed because it was the only virtual school that allowed me to interact with my teacher. I also enjoy having the freedom to choose when I do all of my classes.

My favorite aspect of Xceed is the flexibility. It opened opportunities with hockey that I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else.
